Borovets Forest Park
Borovets Forest Park is one of Yambol's most popular places for walking and outdoor recreation. Located on a natural hill in the northeastern part of the city, it offers green spaces, walking paths and some of the finest panoramic views of Yambol.
The park is home to a variety of trees and plants, including black pine, acacia, maple, ash, linden and lilac. The southern slopes feature landscaped paths and recreational areas, while other parts retain a more natural woodland character.
At the highest point stands a 55-metre flagpole flying the Bulgarian national flag, which has become one of the city's recognisable landmarks. The elevated location offers sweeping views across Yambol and the surrounding countryside.
Over the years, the forest park has undergone several periods of development and restoration. Following fires and damage to vegetation, tree-planting campaigns involving the municipality, volunteers and local organisations have helped preserve this important green space.
Today, Borovets is a favourite destination for walking, jogging, picnics and outdoor activities. Since 2021, it has also featured a dedicated mountain biking area.
With its natural surroundings and panoramic scenery, Borovets Forest Park is an excellent place to discover Yambol from a different perspective.
If you are looking for a beautiful view of Yambol, Borovets Forest Park is one of the best places to visit.
Follow the walking paths, discover the viewpoints and take time to enjoy the scenery. Late afternoon is particularly pleasant, when the softer light creates beautiful views across the city.
Borovets is suitable for both leisurely walks and more active outdoor recreation. You can go jogging, ride a bicycle or simply relax among the trees.
Comfortable shoes are recommended, as the terrain is hilly and some paths include slopes or steps. If you plan to visit around sunset, allow enough time to return before dark.
