Bakadzhitsite

Bakadzhitsite is a chain of low hills located about 15 kilometres from Yambol. The average elevation is around 300 metres, while the highest parts reach approximately 515 metres.

Thanks to their location in the plains of southeastern Bulgaria, the Bakadzhitsite hills offer impressive panoramic views towards Yambol and the surrounding region. The name of the area is also associated with these elevations.

Bakadzhitsite is connected with different periods of the region's history. The area was once home to haiduk groups and is associated with the names of Indzhe Voyvoda, Panayot Hitov and other prominent figures from Bulgaria's national liberation movement.
